NEW SHOOTING ASSOCIATION
AMERICAN COWBOY QUICK DRAW ASSOCIATION
Started June 1, 2009
Here are pictures of our targets and some pictures of our fist shoot, everyone had a wonderful time it was a very fun, relaxing shoot. Our rules are a bit different, but safety is our first concern and then it is just plain fun, fun, fun. From left to right, The Kid, The sheriff, Black Bart, Mountain Man Mick
Shane Croft "The Kid" shooting at his own target, The winner of first ever American Cowboy Shoot was Men Shane Croft, Ladies winner was Shannon Croft, see what happens when the South Dakota people show up. We had 25 total shooters at this event which was by invitation only for the first time. Everyone had so much fun that we had 6 people sign up for life memberships already.
We had 5 Junior shooters at the match, our association is really into having the youth shooting and having fun, Jake was a first time shooter and won the Junior Division. The Association gave each Junior a buckle as well as all the shooters that came because there were NO LOOSERS at this match, something that has never been done, each contestant received a buckle!! Second picture from left below, couple of shooters taking it easy, seems like in the match I remember Sharon telling her target "to die already". Jim Bob has the Mountain man in this round.
Our shoots are a bit different as we shoot a certain number of rounds in a match or put a time limit on it, everyone keeps shooting, you do not x out, you pay to shoot and get experience and this is what we want. You are in a gun fight, you have to shoot until you put your target down "light out" at the end of the contest the man or woman that survived the most gun fights is declared the winner. Our other rules are simple as well. We even have an OUTLAW CLASS, any gun that can fire a wax bullet is allowed in this class, rifles, shotguns, handguns, derringers, what ever shoots in this class.
For more information on this new sport contact Mike or Elaine, contact information is on this site.
The property is owned by Mike & Elaine Krueger, it is open for use by any club, or any fund raiser, wedding party, family reunion or other activity by contacting Mike or Elaine.
The Bull Mountain Drifters use the grounds for their activities which include, cowboy style shooting, shotgun shooting, practical shooting, and rifle shooting, they have their own website being developed for news and information, this site is for Bull Town News only.
Shoot format: ENTRY FEE PER PERSON $35 to $40 suggested fee for American Cowboy Quick Draw Association matches
Shoot till you hit, fastest first or second shot wins, you are in a fight, if you both missed in real life the winner would be the one that hits first no matter what. first 3 winning hits wins the round. We have had winning times of 3.5 seconds and even some no times all 5 shots missed!!!
There will be NO hand judges, we trust your honesty, if you feel that you anticipated or drew early, call yourself on it, cowboy up. If you do cheat and are caught you will be asked to leave the contest.
You will furnish your own loads, wax over shotgun primers only, CFDA type brass.

Special thanks to the Bull Mountain Fire Department for the grub line, best chuck I have had, under tough conditions ever. Well Done guys.
We hope that we will have the chance to host many more events at Bull Town, plans are already underway for more dirt work on main street and a venders row that will be rustic on the way into town so venders will not have to set up their own tents and can bring more stuff to sell.
Check back in a few days for updates and such, and thanks again to you all..
